For some people, having a four-car garage in a fancy suburban home will just not be enough. For them, they actually need an entire property to house their collection of cars. Here is a list of the top 10 people with the biggest car collection in the world.
10. Nicholas Cage
Nicholas Cage starred in the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds,” and he probably wishes that he could indeed live that life where he would just get any car he fancies anytime he wants. Not that cars are his only weaknesses because Cage has been known to amass properties, jewelries, yachts and even a jet and exotic pets. Several years ago, Cage bought 22 cars in just one year. He regularly checks out a list of super cars for sale, be it a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, etc. He has been seen in a Ferrari Enzo, a Jaguar D-Type and a Ferrari California 250 Spyder. He also has a Lamborghini Miura formerly owned by the Shah of Iran. When he got intro trouble with the IRS, he probably would sell his English castle or a couple of islands first before he parts with his car collection.
9. Bill Goldberg
Bill Goldberg is known to professional wrestling fans as a two-time champion who held the distinction of being the first undefeated champion in the history of professional wrestling. True to his image, he prefers muscle cars with engine sound that can blow away the surroundings. His very first vehicle was a 1967 Plymouth GTX powered by a Hemi engine. When he started becoming popular and the money began to come in, Goldberg decided to buy Mopar muscle cars. He has since expanded his collection to include a Barracuda 440 Six Pack, Barracuda convertible with Hemi engine, Shelby cobra 427 and Mustang Boss 429.
8. Billy Gibbons
Billy Gibbons is known as the guitarist of the iconic band called ZZ Top. He is also an avid collector of hot rods and customized one-off vehicles. He owns a 1933 Ford Eliminator coupe, which is probably the most famous hot rod in the world. With three windows and eye-catching red paint, the hot rod is considered a work of art. He also has a 1932 Ford Roadster and a 1961 Cadillac Coupe de Ville in mint condition. He also has a 1946 Ford sedan he calls the Big Mambo, a 1950 Ford coupe called Kopperhead and a 1962 Chevrolet dubbed the Slampala. The late great hot rod builder Boyd Coddington also built Gibbons the Cadzilla.
7. Tim Allen
If you ever saw the television hit series called “Home Improvement” in the early 90s, you would probably recall the lead character building a couple of hot rods during the show. The lead character was Tim Allen and the hot rods were a 1946 Ford convertible with 292 flathead V8 engine and a 1933 Ford Roadster with a Chevy 350 engine. Allen still has those vehicles up to now, along with a 1956 Ford F150 pickup with 426 supercharged engine, 1996 Chevy Impala SS with Corvette ZR1 engine, 1968 Shelby GT500 KR and a special one-off called the Tim Allen Moal Roadster Special, built by Steve Moal. He also has a Ferrari 330 GTC and a Porsche Carrera GT.
6. Rowan Atkinson
You would probably think that all Rowan Atkinson has are yellow Minis consistent to his character in “Mr. Bean,” but he has much more than that. In his collection are the 1958 AC Ace, Aston Martin DB7, Aston Martin V8, Aston Martin Zagato, Bentley Mulsanne, Jaguar XKE, Lotus Carlton, MG X-Power SV, McLaren F1 supercar and Morgan Aeromax. He obviously loves British cars, though he also owns a Ferrari 456 GT and several Mercedes Benzes, including the Mercedes Benz 500E that boasts of 320 horsepower.
5. Jeff Beck
Jeff Beck is a rock god who was a member of The Yardbirds. He is also an avid collector of vehicles. His favorites are the classic Deuce Coupes and 1932 Ford Roadsters. He also has a 1932 three-window Ford coupe, which he copied from the car used in the classic movie called “American Graffiti.” He set out to create an exact replica after losing out in an auction to buy the original one. He still also has the 1963 split-window Corvette Stingray that he bought during the heydays of The Yardbirds.
4. Nick Mason
There must be something about car collection and rock stars because after Jeff Beck, Nick Mason, the drummer of Pink Floyd, comes next in our list. He has cars from all eras and he makes it a point to keep all of it in tip-top condition. Mason is known to have a love for car racing, having participated in Le Mans several times. It is no wonder that his collection is full of super cars, like the 1931 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, 1927 Bugatti Type 35, Ferrari 312 T3, Ferrari Enzo, 1955 Jaguar D-Type, Maserati 250F, McLaren F1 GTR and 1990 Porsche 962. He also has a Ford Model T that was originally owned by Coco the Clown.
3. Jerry Seinfeld
Jerry Seinfeld has the largest Porsche collection next to Porsche’s own museum in Stuttgart. His first Porsche was the 911 Carrera and he has since added a 1955 Spyder 550, 917 Le Mans, 1970 908 and the Carrera GT. The cars are in California and Manhattan.
2. Ralph Lauren
Like his designs, Ralph Lauren’s collection is about quality. He has one of only three 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe, Bugatti Veyron, 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C2900 Mille Miglia, 1929 Bentley Blower, 1958 Ferrari Testarossa, McLaren F1 and 1937 Mercedes Benz Count Trossi SSK. His collection is so unique that it has already been featured in a museum.
1. Jay Leno
Jay Leno loves his cars so much that he employs four mechanics and fabricators in a workshop fulltime. While his personal favorite is the 1995 McLaren F1, he actually just buys anything and everything that he likes. He has a 1909 Baker Electric, 1924 Doble Steam, 1955 Buick Roadmaster, a Stanley Steamer, pre-war Bugatti and a host of others.
