China’s richest person, Liang Wengen, has a net worth of $9.3 billion as of September 2011, according to Forbes rich list. Liang Wengen is chairman and main shareholder of the Sany Group, founded in Hunan Province in 1989 as a small welding materials factory. Today, Liang rank as China’s wealthiest person. He is one of four board members from the group, one of China’s largest construction equipment manufacturers, to make Forbes’ billionaires list. Others include Tang Xiuguo, Mao Zhongwu and Xiang Wenbo. Liang founded the business with Tang, Mao, and Yuan Jinhua in 1989. Liang graduated from Central South University, the same school as Tang. All are still active at Sany Group, which employs 53,000 people around the world and has sales that exceed $7 billion.
