• Highest-Paid Men In Entertainment 2011

    Forbes recently released its list of Entertainment’s highest-paid men, Tyler Perry, who has his own film and TV studio in Atlanta, ranks atop the list of Hollywood’s highest paid men, in a new ranking from Forbes.com that includes director Steven Spielberg and singer Elton John.

    Perry topped the list by making $130 million from May 2010 to May 2011, according to the financial website, Forbes.com.

    #1. Tyler Perry

    2011 Earnings: $130 million

    Actor/Producer/Director

    Perry makes big money from his TV shows, “Meet the Browns” and “House of Payne” as well as his movies.

    #2. Jerry Bruckheimer

    2011 Earnings: $113 million

    Director/Producer

    With the fourth installment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean,” which earned $1 billion worldwide, Bruckheimer had another hit this summer.

    #3. Steven Spielberg

    2011 Earnings: $107 million

    Director/Producer

    Spielberg will compete against himself this fall at the box office with the films “War Horse” and “The Adventures of Tintin.”

    #4. Elton John

    2011 Earnings: $100 million

    Musician

    John’s most recent tour grossed $204 million in 12 months.

    #5. Simon Cowell

    2011 Earnings: $90 million

    Record executive, Television Producer/Personality

    Cowell will be back on TV this fall with “The X Factor,” another music-contest show that will also feature “American Idol” alum Paula Abdul.

    #6. James Patterson

    2011 Earnings: $84 million

    Author

    Writer Patterson oversaw 20 best-selling books in 2010 alone. He works with a rotating group of co-authors to churn out books in his “Alex Cross” and “Women’s Murder Club” series.

    #7. Dr. Phil McGraw

    2011 Earnings: $80 million

    Author/Talk show host

    Dr. Phil is the most successful of Oprah’s proteges. He’s started creating his own little empire with a spin-off show called “The Doctors,” which is produced by his son Jay.

    #8. Leonardo DiCaprio

    2011 Earnings: $77 million

    Actor

    DiCaprio is the only actor to make our list thanks to two big movies in 2010: “Shutter Island” and “Inception,” which combined grossed $1.1 billion worldwid

    #9. Howard Stern

    2011 Earnings: $76 million

    Radio personality

    Stern has renewed with SiriusXM satellite radio through 2015 but analysts estimate he took a 20 percent cut on his new deal.

    #10. Tiger Woods

    2011 Earnings: $75 million

    Professional golfer

    Woods has struggled on — and off — the golf course since his 2009 personal problems but he’s still the world’s best-paid athlete.
